Extraordinary Celebration - 100 Years of Compton Green
Compton Green Marks 100 Years with Gala, Raising $18,740 , and surprise performance by REIV President Jacob Caine. (28th March 2026)
One hundred years of Compton Green was recognised with an Inner West gala that brought together industry, community and long‑standing supporters, while raising $18,740 for local charitable initiatives.
Hosted by Directors Adrian Butera and Dee Gibson, the Inner West Gala welcomed industry peers, clients and local business leaders to mark the agency’s continued independent presence across Melbourne’s Inner West.
“This was an opportunity to acknowledge the people, businesses and communities that have shaped Compton Green over the past century, and to give back in a way that genuinely reflects our values as an agency,” said Director Adrian Butera.
The evening acknowledged Compton Green’s history while reinforcing its modern leadership and relevance within today’s property industry.
A standout moment came when Jacob Caine, President of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV), surprised guests — and event organisers — by joining acclaimed soprano Antoinette Halloran on stage for an impromptu opera performance. The unexpected collaboration was a highlight for many who know Caine primarily through his industry leadership role.
Entertainment throughout the night also included performances from Channel 7’s The Voice, Ambraya, electric strings trio Varley Strings and DJ Nikki Pratt, with Benny Gregs serving as Master of Ceremonies.
The event was supported by a mix of local businesses and industry partners, including Checkhero, Brandscent, Omsco, Cotality, Anywhere Agent, Domain and realestate.com.au.
Auction offerings reflected both legacy and local connection, featuring AFL Grand Final tickets donated by Compton Green, a commemorative centenary wine from Barossa Valley producer Iggy Wines, and sought‑after local experiences from Yarraville institutions Bar Romanee and Sun Theatre.
All funds raised will directly support community programs across the Inner West through Local Impact and the Hobsons Bay Community Fund.
